Responsibilities

  • Elicit and resolve the mechatronic system requirements (mechanical, electronic and software) for multiple product variants, delivering technical solutions from concept through to detailed implementation requirements.

  • Deliver the key system engineering deliverables including failure and robustness analysis, system analysis and specification documentation working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

  • Develop system simulation models that support a continuous testing methodology working with the control system, software and vehicle dynamics team.

  • Ensure a structured process is maintained across the team satisfying safety critical process requirements.

  • Work with the test engineering team to derive test requirements and test methods that meet the project timeline and budget whilst ensuring robust delivery.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical, Electrical or Software Engineering, or related technical field

  • Expert in requirement and test specification elicitation, notation and tool management.

  • Knowledge of production vehicle electrical and software systems and relevant industry standards

  • Experience in delivery of electronic & software related products either in research or to series production.

  • Some experience with model-based systems engineering methods


Desired Qualifications & Experience

  • Knowledge of automotive telematics systems and connected car applications

  • Knowledge of mechatronic chassis systems and vehicle dynamics

  • Significant model based system engineering experience

  • Experience delivering safety critical software or hardware products and application to relevant industry standards (ISO/SAE etc..)
