RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Concept Phase:

  • Lead Supplier Concern Management Activities for assign suppliers.

  • Conducting audits as defined by the Supplier Assessment Audit Guideline and driving findings to closure

  • Facilitate Technical Reviews with supplier in order to provide information about Design, Metrology, Process and Equipment plans, and Lessons Learned prior to Sourcing

  • Support supplier risk analysis with cross functional team

  • Participate in Component Sourcing Committee meetings

  • Drive supplier process development through development plan tracking and studies, equipment buyoffs, capability studies, Process Work Instructions, ect…

  • Support FAI reviews and process audits for Engineering samples and Prototype suppliers

  • Coordination of required confirmation layouts

  • Ensure the defined controls of Special Characteristics meets CMI and AIAG requirements

  • Implement “lessons learned” from existing business / products in new programs / parts

  • Supporting Supplier driven Change Management System

  • Lead Inspection reviews for full FAI and Incoming Inspection

  • Conduct FAI Audits

  • Lead Metrology Reviews: Internal preparation and supplier reviews

  • Lead resolution of metrology issues with suppliers

  • Run Monthly Supplier Report Cards and distribute.


Prototype and Production PPAP Phase:

  • Facilitate Technical Reviews and Early Supplier Involvement with supplier in order to provide information about Design, Metrology, APQP, PPAP, EPC, and Lessons Learned prior to Sourcing

  • Support supplier risk analysis with cross functional team

  • Participate in Component Sourcing Committee meetings

  • Implement and track the APQP status on new programs / parts and involved sub-components up to SOP including any prototype and containment requirements

  • Track the APQP status of engineering changes and supplier driven changes

  • Coordinate the self-monitored R@R at the low risk suppliers

  • Conduct PPAP and Run at Rate audits for low and medium risk suppliers

  • Coordination of required confirmation layouts

  • Ensure EPC (Early Production Containment) is effective at suppliers, and combines use of Safe Launch and GP12

  • Ensure the defined controls of Special Characteristics meets CMI and AIAG requirements

  • Review the sub-suppliers PFMEA and Control Plan to ensure effective control on pass through characteristics

  • Review and disposition PPAP’s

  • Implement “lessons learned” from existing business / products in new programs / parts

  • Supporting Supplier driven Change Management System


After PPAP approval

  • Lead Supplier Concern Management Activities for assign suppliers.

  • Review ECP/GP12 process capability data on special characteristics for compliance to the requirement and closure of any 8D’s for internal or external issues identified during the EPC period

  • Supplier internal team with technical details on Supplier Proposed changes.

  • Track PPAP’s for authorized changes to full PPAP approval.

  • Include Lessons Learned in EPC template updates


Supplementary Tasks

  • Continuous reporting based on standard tools (check list, tracking list, programme performance indexes, problem solving, supplier visit/audit reports, CCAR)

  • Participate actively in regular department internal workshops in order to share and implement best practice

  • Support continuous improvement of CMI standards, processes, systems and interfaces

  • Support Purchasing with supplier proposed cost reduction activities / price increase avoidance


Required skills

  • Preferred BS /MS in Engineering, CQE, CQA

  • Experience in Automotive business, minimum of 5 years

  • Good knowledge of Quality systems related to IATF16949 and VDA

  • Preferred IATF16949 auditor certification

  • Knowledgeable with technical drawings, measurement techniques, and GD&T

  • Knowledgeable in Process Capability Studies, and Early Product Containment

  • Knowledgeable in AIAG Core Quality Tools APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, GR&R, FMEA, and Control Plan

  • Knowledgeable in methods for quality and process corrective actions (8D, Ishikawa, 5-Why…)

  • At least 3 years of Supplier Development experience

  • Fluent English in word and writing

  • Willingness to travel up to 40%

  • Good Computer knowledge in MS Office and Project
